My interest was sparked in high school when I took a geology class. My teacher had such a passion for the earth that it was contagious. I caught the bug, but zeroed in on gemstones. It was fascinating to me that the earth could create these beautiful and vastly different minerals. There had to be a way I could turn this into a career!
A jeweler told me about the Gemological Institute of America. I packed my bags in 2010 and moved out to California to take their Graduate Gemologist Program. I loved the program so much I didn't want to stop learning. In 2011 I received a full ride scholarship to take the Graduate Jeweler Program. Since then I have went on to take a stone cutting and torch class at the Taos School of Metalsmithing and Lapidary design from Marilynn Nicholson. In 2018 I went to Nashville in January to take a bench comprehensive course from Blaine Lewis at New Approach School for Jewelers. I returned again in July of that year to take their Stone Setting Comprehensive class.
My family is my backbone and the reason I do what I do. My husband, Jason, has seen me through all my schooling and several jobs while I tried to figure out my place in this industry. We welcomed our little gem, Jade, into the world in December of 2016 and Roman joined us October of 2018. Life is fun, challenging, busy, and I can't wait to make beautiful Jewelry.
Receiving a gift of jewelry is so special and can take you back to a particular memory or beautiful moment in your life. I would love to be a part of helping you make those memories.
